China's MDVR Market to Hit ¥23.8B in 2026 as Policy & OEM Integration Drive Growth

New research forecasts 13.3% growth in China's vehicle DVR market, fueled by Ministry of Transport mandates, rising OEM fitment rates and software services revenue.

China's MDVR Market to Hit ¥23.8B in 2026 as Policy & OEM Integration Drive Growth

China's车载录像机 (MDVR) market is on track to reach ¥23.8 billion (approx. $3.3B) in 2026 — a 13.3% increase over 2025, according to the latest industry research. The growth story rests on three reinforcing pillars.

Pillar 1: Regulatory Mandates

The revised Ministry of Transport 《道路运输车辆动态监督管理办法》 (Road Transport Vehicle Dynamic Supervision Measures) takes full effect from July 2026, requiring blind-spot monitoring and fatigue-driving recognition on heavy trucks and semi-trailers. The compliance wave is estimated to drive roughly 4.2 million new intelligent terminal installations.

Pillar 2: OEM Penetration

MDVR modules are increasingly integrated at the factory. BYD, Geely and SAIC Maxus now ship MDVR as standard on 17 new models, and OEM fitment is expected to climb from 9.2% to 15.8% of new commercial vehicles by year-end.

Pillar 3: Services Revenue

Cloud storage, AI analytics and TSP platform integration are turning one-time hardware sales into recurring revenue streams. Average annual software service revenue per device is projected to rise from ¥136 in 2024 to ¥219 in 2026.

Market Consolidation

Hikvision (24.7%), Dahua (19.3%) and Uniview (12.1%) hold a combined 56.1% market share, with the top five vendors controlling over 68%. Second-tier players like Streamax and Howen are competing on vertical specialization and integrated solutions.
