How We Benchmarked

Each platform was scored against four weighted criteria: dispatcher task completion time, live video latency under cellular load, audit-grade evidence export, and openness of APIs for TMS/ERP integration. We deliberately tested with non-technical users — real dispatchers, not engineers.

The Standout: Built for Dispatchers

One platform consistently won on usability. Live video pulled up in under three seconds, incident clips exported in two clicks with chain-of-custody metadata, and the fleet map felt responsive even on cellular hotspots. The losers buried core workflows under three layers of menus.

Where Platforms Still Struggle

Multi-tenant management for operators running sister fleets remains clunky across the board. Only two platforms offered true white-label branding without a custom engineering contract — a real gap for resellers.

API & Integration

Three platforms shipped documented REST APIs with sandbox environments. The other two required custom integration work — a red flag for any fleet with an existing TMS investment.

Verdict

The cloud platform is now the real differentiator. Insist on a live dispatcher-led demo before signing any multi-year contract — spec sheets don't reveal workflow friction.
